I am so happy to share the most delectable winter wedding flowers at Thornbury Castle. A beautiful intimate wedding for the lovely Edith and Alexander. Deeply dark and gorgeous, full of luxurious blooms and delicate seasonal detail. I just love the style and feeling of this wedding. The deep reds, winter setting and incredible photography from Lily Wilson give it such a deeply romantic feel.
Stylish Wedding Flowers at Thornbury Castle
Their Floral Style
Edith and Alex wanted sumptuous floral designs with a darkly delicious deep red colour palette. With an intimate wedding – your wedding flowers are such an important part of your day. This is because they can have even more impact and help put across your personal style and aesthetic. I love the sophisticated and stylish look the flowers brought to Edith and Alex’s wedding celebrations.
Personal Flowers
At out consultation we talked about rich and sumptuous designs with a natural feel and a delicious deep red and burgundy colour palette with hints of dark blue. I created the most romantically wild and wonderful bridal bouquet for Edith with a rich, abundant feel. Elegant seasonal boutonierres and corsages for Alex and the rest of the wedding party.
Wedding Ceremony Flowers
Thornby Castle has the most perfect choice of rooms for an intimate wedding. Edith and Alex’s wedding ceremony was held in the beautiful library room. I created a wonderful floral back drop for their ceremony with large seasonal urn displays with a wild and natural feel. I added extra detail with a vintage vase arrangement for the ceremony table. Small vases of flowers were placed on shelves, ledges and side tables to bring the flowers into the rest of the space.
Wedding Reception Flowers
I adored creating the displays for Edith and Alex’s wedding breakfast. It was held in the private dining room at Thornbury Castle with one large banquet style table for the entire wedding party. I flowered this up with luxurious large candelabra arrangements which added a wonderful statement to the table. The Ceremony table flowers were re-used in the centre. I filled the space with mixed bud vases of dark red flowers and berries as this added another floral touch.
The Flowers
I wanted to create a truly sumptuous and romantic look to the floral designs which is why I chose David Austen Tess Garden roses – just delectable, along with deep red spray roses and ranunculus. I added seasonal detail and texture with hypericum berries, viburnum berries, eryngium, daucus carota and scabious seedheads.
