Hello all! I’m Meg the face behind Megan Lily Floral Design. I adore my job as a Bristol wedding Florist.
It’s hard to say where it all began, my absolute, total love of floral design – Ever since I was a little girl I loved making beautiful, delicate, interesting things.
I’m a hands on, doing things, undeniably creative soul and will happily spend hours deep in concentration creating something beautiful.
My clients
As a Bristol wedding florist I have the most amazing clients. I flower for the thinkers, the readers, the wonderers. The amblers off the beaten track. My flowers are for you if you want your florals to be a captivating part of your wedding day. You are excited by the romance and history of this beautiful rite of passage. You appreciate quality, authenticity and subtlety.
Your wedding flowers will be considered and perfectly be part of your aesthetic. They will be abundant, full of natural detail and bring to life the style and feeling you imagine for your wedding day.
A Few things you didn’t know about me
- My full name is Megan Lily Cristabel – Hence the Lily in my business name. My mum always tells me she chose this name for me after Lily of the Valley as it’s one of her favourite spring flowers. Being born in April this seemed to fit…. flowers having an influence on me from birth!
- I have a degree in Set and Costume design from The Central School of Speech and Drama. This back ground knowledge of design helps my work every day as I understand how to put feelings and emotions across in a visual way using colour texture. This means I create beautifully emotive wedding flowers for my couples.
- I was the grungy kid at school! My quiet way of rebelling. I am much more restrained in my dress sense now but my love of the unusual, subtly unique and importance of individuality still stands strong in me. Your wedding flowers will always reflect your individual style.
- Whilst I was training as a florist I won a place in the Final of the Chelsea Florist of the Year Competition at Chelsea Flower Show. It was this to made me think… Hhmmm….I seem to be quite good at this floristry thing…! It spured me on and gave me the confidence to set up my business as a Bristol Wedding Florist.
Working with me
It is so important that your wedding flowers reflect you as a couple. That they enhance your day and are part of the memories you have. I believe the secret to truly personal and unique wedding flowers lies in creating relaxed, informal designs with the beautifully imperfect qualities of the flowers at their heart.
Are you planning your wedding but worried that you don’t know anything about flowers? Don’t worry! I am the biggest flower nerd on the planet! My absolute total love for everything flowers and floral design shines through in my work. I understand all about how to treat each flower, their seasonality and what will look beautiful on your day. I even know all the Latin names! All I need from you is an idea of the overall style and feel you want for your day and a chat about your colour scheme.
I will take it from there. Using my knowledge and expertise of the seasons I will design and create beautiful floral designs for your wedding day. Everything is supplied for you from vases, urns and structures to little details like ribbons and pins for the bouquets and buttonholes.
All my designs are created using exceptional quality seasonal flowers and foliage. I shy away from using dyed or bleached materials. Why mess with the natural beauty of flowers when they are so incredibly wonderful as they are?! All designs are created using sustainable floristry techniques and no floral foam.
