Rosanna and Jamie | Somerset Wedding Flowers | October 2021
Beautifully relaxed, natural and romantic October wedding flowers. It was an absolute joy to work on Rosanna and Jamie’s wedding flowers with them. They had so many creative ideas. I really got to use my design skills and create florals full of detail and personal touches.
Their Floral Style
Rosanna and Jamie wanted wedding flowers that in some way represented their love of Italy and also Jamie’s work as a farmer. They were also inspired by the beautiful, symbolic, ancient, pagan Hex marks carved into the walls of Almonry Barn. I created loose, natural, detailed designs with a wild and romantic feel. Full of seasonal flowers and foliage, herbs and seed heads. I incorporated the shape of the hex marks into a bespoke moon-gate that created a beautiful back drop for their wedding breakfast.
The Blooms
I used plenty of olive foliage and herbs like rosemary and flowering oregano. This gave that Italian, Mediterranean feel to their wedding flowers. I included wheat as a nod to Jamie’s job. I added beautiful detail with a delicate mix of flowers including achillea, small roses, scabious and snapdragons, seed heads, grasses, and of course snow berries -one of my favourites to use in romantic October wedding flowers. This all gave a lovely wild flower look to the designs.
